Ghana Advisory Council

The Ghana Advisory Council is a group of leaders from philanthropy, civil society, government, and UN agencies. Established by the SDG Philanthropy Platform in 2015, the Council is focused on engaging philanthropy in national development plans. The membership is divided into sub groups on water, education, livelihoods, and enabling environment for philanthropy and social investors.

The Council meets regularly to discuss how the Platform can influence the policy framework for philanthropy in Ghana.

Ghana Advisory Council Members:

•Government ministries and departments: Education, Water, Finance, Gender and Social Protection, National Development Planning Commission, and the Ghana Education Service.

•Development partners: USAID/FHi360, GIZ, and UNDP.

•Foundations and NGOs: Safe Water Network, Water Aid, CAMFED, IRC, Ashesi University, CSO platform on SDGs, Coalition of NGOs in Water and Sanitation (CONIWAS), Global Foundations (IDP Foundation),Ashesi University, the African Philanthropy Network, Africa Women Development Fund, West African Civil Society Institute.

•Think tanks: Center for Intellectual Renewal Africa Center for Economic Transformation IMANI Africa.
