Unlocking Philanthropy's Potential for Development

      On September 25, 2019, the SDG Philanthropy Platform, led by UNDP and RPA, in partnership with WINGSAga Khan FoundationLa Caixa Foundation and Charities Aid Foundation hosted a side event on "Unlocking the Full Potential of Philanthropy for Development" at the Ford Foundation Center for Social Justice in New York. 

      More than 80 representatives from various sectors, including international foundations, networks, philanthropy-support organizations, NGOs, international development agencies, etc., convened to reflect on main barriers, potential bridges and important enables for fostering multi-stakeholder collaboration for the SDGs. Regional experiences from Europe, Asia-Pacific, MENA and Latin America were featured. Discussion outcomes will be further used to shape and guide UNDP/SDGPP work on the engagement of the philanthropic sector for development.
