About Us

Description

In many Islamic countries like Indonesia, Zakat, or Islamic charity for the poor, is mostly channeled informally through families and friends and uncertified charity bodies and orphanages. Zakat has the potential to become a significant source of funding for the SDGs in Indonesia. The number of Zakat management organizations has increased and achieved more rapid growth than other philanthropic institutions.

Impact Achieved

Through its involvement in SDG initiatives, the Zakat movement can be scaled to the global level for more lasting impact. A high-level memorandum between BAZNAS and UNDP Indonesia has documented the commitment to align Zakat giving with the SDGs.
