SDG Philanthropy Platform Brazil conducts collaborative workshop on the SDGs
The Platform holds a series of meetings aimed at building innovative solutions to achieve the goals of the 2030 Global Agenda. SDGPP Brazil is an initiative of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) with focus on catalyzing collaboration between institutes and philanthropic foundations, through the construction of connections between the sector philanthropy, governments and international organizations in support of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

For those present, the meeting is an opportunity to help organizations get out of the field of debate and move to the phase of effective implementation of SDG-related actions, as well as to build ways to engage, engage and raise public awareness of this agenda.

"We will define a horizon and construct ways to reach the final goal, which is the country's development." explained Luciana Aguiar, UNDP Private Sector Partnerships and Development Manager. In previous meetings, four of the 17 SDGs were defined as "accelerators", that is, objectives that can serve as a gateway to philanthropy and incentive for the implementation of the rest. These are: Quality education (04); Reduction of inequalities (10); Peace, Justice and Institutions (16); and Partnerships and means of implementation (17).

In 2018, a series of activities will be carried out to advance this discussion, creating opportunities for collaboration and scale-up solutions, as well as measuring impacts. For this reason, in the afternoon of the seminar a workshop was held, with a co-creation dynamic focused on the construction of "collaborative pathways", which will guide the next steps for the implementation of the four selected SDGs. Karolina Mzyk, UNDP advisor for Foundations, who coordinates SDGPP in other countries, shared the importance of valuing four levers in this process: Behavior Change, Market, Technology and Public Policies.
The Philanthropy Platform is part of the SDG Philanthropy Platform, a global initiative that connects philanthropic foundations to data, knowledge, and networking that enable collaboration, leverage resources, and sustain the impact these organizations bring to sustainable development.

"We believe that the objectives of Agenda 2030 are too complex to look at in isolation. Therefore, participating in the Plataforma de Filantropia Brasil is of fundamental importance for Comunitas, for the value of networking to amplify the results ", says the director of Communication and Management of Comunitas, Patricia Loyola.

The meeting was attended by important companies and organizations such as the Roberto Marinho Foundation, TV Globo, C & A Institute, Tide Setubal Foundation, Humanize Institute, Instituto Alana, Itaú Unibanco, Comunitas, GIFE, IDIS, All for Education.
